The defensive captain for the New York Jets will return next week.
C.J. Mosley started the season with the team at middle “Mike” linebacker versus the Buffalo Bills and despite totaling five tackles, one interception and one touchdown (pick six), he sustained a groin injury and did not return.

New York held a 16-0 lead prior to the injury; however, it suffered a 17-16 loss with Mosley out.
The former All-American and Butkus Award winner at Alabama has missed the last four games, but said he ‘will play’ against the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football – according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Dennis, Waszak Jr., an Associated Press Pro Football writer, has covered the Jets since 2006 and was at Thursday’s practice with the team.
He captured video of Mosley going through positional drills and heard from the sixth-year veteran that he is playing on next Monday.

Mosley signed a five-year, $85 million contract to play for the Jets, following his five seasons with the Baltimore Ravens.
He guided the team to two playoff appearances — including an AFC North Division crown in 2017, yet is was not enough for the Ravens. Mosley recorded 100-plus tackles in four of five seasons in Baltimore, but he is now ready to take the Jets to new heights.
