Taylor Groves is one of the fast-rising wide receiver prospects in the 2022 recruiting class and the Tide could have him on their radar soon.
The East Robertson High School product is expected to be one of the top wideouts in his class. Six Division 1 schools have offered Groves up until this point. With offers from Tennessee, Arkansas, Ole Miss and Texas A&M in hand, the Tennessee product is looking for a school, who fits his play on the field and feels like home off of it.
“I am looking for somewhere, that my play style fits and somewhere that I feel comfortable, somewhere where everyone is close like a family,” Groves said.
Alabama has offered several 2022 prospects so far and has a verbal commitment from one of its targets. The Crimson Tide has pulled in four wideouts over the last two recruiting cycles. Three 2020 wide receivers signed with the Tide in the 2020 recruiting class after John Metchie was their lone wide receiver signee in the 2019 class.
A lot of factors will go into how many wide receivers Alabama will attempt to pull in doing the 2022 recruiting cycle. There are several aspects of Groves’ playing style, that make you think he could be one of their targets.
The 4-Star recruit has good size at 6-2 and 175 pounds. He has the ability to catch the deep ball and is productive in space.
“My strengths are that I am a deep ball threat and I go up and get it,” Groves said. “I have good hands, and I have been working on my footwork and adding to my route tree.”
Living in Tennessee, Groves is no stranger to Alabama football and the success the Tide has had under Nick Saban.
“It is a great school,” Groves said. “The success they have had is unbelievable and they are very consistent.”
Groves’ recruitment is 100 percent open at this point as offers will continue to pour in for him.
