He has an opportunity to be the first quarterback in the Nick Saban era to toss for 400 yards versus Tennessee.
John Parker Wilson came close in 2007 (363 yards), but Mac Jones looks to create history for Alabama. He has been exceptional through four games, totaling 1,518 yards passing with 12 touchdowns to two interceptions.
Jones has completed 78.3 percent of his throws (90 of 115 passing), carries a passer rating of 220.10, averages 379.5 pass yards per game and has a total quarterback rating of 96.6.
The redshirt junior is the lone signal caller for the Crimson Tide to record three straight 400-yard passing games. As he continues to push Alabama toward a national championship, more members of national media are noticing him.

Patrick “Pat” McAfee, an alumnus of West Virginia University and standout punter, played eight years (2009-16) with the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League. He was a two-time Pro Bowl selection (2014, 2016) and first-team All-Pro honoree in 2014.
Since his playing career, McAfee has been featured on Barstool Sports, ESPN and Fox Sports.
He now hosts his own show, The Pat McAfee Show.
In making a guest appearance on ESPN’s College Football GameDay, McAfee likes what he’s been seeing from Jones at quarterback. Not only does he feel like the Tide will cover the spread of 21 points against the Volunteers, but he also referred to the native Floridian as being ‘mesmerizing’ this season.
Listen… @JoeyB had an absolutely unbelievable year last year.
BUT what @MacJones_10 has done thus far is somehow BETTER.#RollTide #GameDay pic.twitter.com/Q7NMZR59pD

“This Alabama team is humming on all cylinders offensively,” McAfee said. “They got the weapons, they got the backfield, and they got Sarkisian running an offense that’s incredible. I honestly don’t see a single hiccup out of this Alabama team after dominating the Georgia Bulldogs last week.”
McAfee compared the numbers from Joe Burrow’s (LSU Tigers) first four games in the Southeastern Conference to Jones’, and has been thoroughly impressed by the former four-star.
“Joe Burrow had an absolutely unbelievable year last year, but what Mac Jones has done thus far is somehow better,” McAfee said.
Jones is putting together an amazing year and has himself in the Heisman conversation.
He looks to continue his strong play against the Volunteers.
