Alabama football has the 15th-strongest strength of schedule ahead of the 2026 college football season, according to ESPN’s Football Power Index.
The Crimson Tide is ranked No. 8 in ESPN’s FPI and is set to take on six teams ranked in the top 25 this fall. They are 13 SEC teams with stronger strength of schedules than Alabama, according to the initial release of the FPI ahead of the upcoming season. The only non-SEC team with a stronger strength of schedule than Alabama is the Big Ten’s Ohio State.
Michigan at No. 16 is the second-highest ranked non-SEC team in terms of strength of schedule.
Alabama will open the season at home against East Carolina on Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
