Antonio Kite announced his verbal commitment to Alabama football Sunday.
Kite is Alabama’s ninth commit in the 2022 recruiting class. The Anniston, Alabama product is the second in-state recruit to give Alabama a verbal commit. Alabama’s coaching staff received a verbal commitment from Kite during his visit to Tuscaloosa on June 3rd.
“The visit was great,” Kite said. “It was awesome to get an opportunity to talk to coach Saban is person.”
The four-star recruit had an opportunity to play football and basketball at the University of Alabama. He has decided to stop playing basketball and focus on football after his senior season wraps up.
Last season was Kite’s first year playing varsity football. He showed great anticipation and attacked the football with great efficiency at 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds. The four-star recruit is expected to make a big leap in his game next season.
“I played football in middle school, but it was not fun like it is now,” Kite said. “High school was more of a challenge because everyone knows what they are doing, and it is not like middle school where everyone is just running around.”
