Jerry Jeudy has been coined as Calvin Ridley 2.0 by many and that comes with good reason. After narrowing his list down to 5 this week with Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Miami and Tennessee, he decided live on The Tony Sands Show in Fort Lauderdale, FL that he was headed to Tuscaloosa to join Ridley.
Jeudy became a hot commodity in a deep wide receiver class, holding 32 offers under his belt. Jeudy now becomes the third receiver to commit to Alabama out of that south Florida pipeline joining the elite class with current Oakland Raiders star and former Heisman finalist Amari Cooper and as noted before, Calvin Ridley.
The number one ranked wide receiver according to Touchdown Alabama’s recruiting team, Jerry Jeudy brings you a level of versatility that only a handful of players have these days. He has strong hands and has no problems keeping those hands ready when having to adjust to the ball. His speed is at an elite level and he knows just how and when to use it on the field. He gets off the line very quickly with strong footwork and when he has the ball in his hands he gets upfield well and can be very shifty.
The thing that stands out most about Jeudy though is that his route tree is as creative as they come. He makes precise cuts and is consistently embarrassing corners. This video of him doing just that to 2019 Miami commit Akeem Dent at Florida’s ‘Friday Night Lights’ camp last week is a perfect example.

Jeudy becomes Alabama’s eighteenth commit in the 2017 class and third in less than a week. He also is the second wide receiver in the class joining the big 6’6”, 4-star Tyrell Shavers out of Texas. Just on those two alone, the class at the position is coming nicely.
Alabama fans, be sure to follow Jerry Jeudy on Twitter if you already don’t at @jerryjeudy. He is vocal on social media and will likely join forces with 5-star linebacker VanDarius Cowan, 5-star offensive tackle Alex Leatherwood and 4-star quarterback Mac Jones to build an already loaded Crimson Tide class.
