The annual release of preseason polls is indicative of a season looming just around the corner. For fans around the country, it is the first sign of football life since spring practices in mid-April. This is how this year’s Preseason Amway Coaches’ Poll looks heading into 2017:
1 – Alabama Crimson Tide
2 – Ohio State Buckeyes
3 – Florida State Seminoles
4 – USC Trojans
5 – Clemson Tigers
6 – Penn State Nittany Lions
7 – Washington Huskies
8 – Oklahoma Sooners
9 – Michigan Wolverines
10 – Wisconsin Badgers
11 – Oklahoma State Cowboys
12 – Louisiana State Tigers
13 – Auburn Tigers
14 – Stanford Cardinals
15 – Georgia Bulldogs
16 – Florida Gators
17 – Louisville Cardinals
18 – Miami Hurricanes
19 – Kansas State Wildcats
20 – West Virginia Mountaineers
21 – South Florida Bulls
22 – Virginia Tech Hokies
23 – Texas Longhorns
24 – Tennessee Volunteers
25 – Utah Utes
The SEC led all conferences with six teams in the Top 25. The ACC and the Big 12 tied with five a piece. The B1G and the PAC 12 each placed 4. South Florida is the lone team from a non-power five conference to place in the rankings.
