According to Mike Garafolo, Washington Redskins and former Alabama linebacker Reuben Foster has just been carted off the field during practice today. Foster appeared to be sobbing while being taken off which is not an encouraging sign.

Update: Washington is awaiting results of Fosters MRI to determine the severity of his left leg injury.

Head coach Jay Gruden spoke with the media after today’s practice but did not give a diagnosis on Foster. But he did say that he wouldn’t be laying on the ground if something wasn’t wrong.

“Very concerning for sure. We’ll have to wait and see before I get too emotional about it,” said Gruden.

Gruden says that Foster was injured during a drill which was jog-through speed. The injury occurred when he stepped on the foot of offensive lineman Tyler Catalina.

“It was a non-contact drill and he landed funny,” said Gruden.

According to Ian Rapoport, Foster is believed to have torn his ACL with additional damage. A massive blow for Washington who was relying on Foster to fill a big hole in the center of their defense. Foster will also see specialists to determine the full extent.

More details to come.
