Even with the outbreak of the Coronavirus, the University of Alabama will not halt its spring activities or A-Day game for its football program.

This information comes from respectable sources, as the Crimson Tide will have its first practice on Friday.

According to an Alabama football official, “conversations are being had pertaining to Coronavirus but no affect on spring practice.”

The quote continues with “A-Day is six weeks away, but nothing to release to the public at this time.”

The Tide is scheduled to have 15 practice sessions, with its annual spring game being the final one. This year’s A-Day is set for Saturday, April 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

The new strand of the virus, called COVID-19, has symptoms such as coughing, fever and shortness of breath.

While there is no vaccine for it yet, prevention of the disease involves frequent hand-washing, coughing into the bend of your elbow and staying at home when you are sick. As for now, Alabama football is carrying on with its plans for spring practice.
