Videos, photos and reports return this week, as the University of Alabama will begin spring practice for football on Friday.

The Crimson Tide will have 15 practices – including its annual A-Day Game — which is set for Saturday, April 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Alabama graduated four players from its secondary to this NFL Draft and while Patrick Surtain II has much experience, the Tide returns much youth to the roster at the position.

With new coaches being hired to help on defense, Nick Saban is making sure that side of the football is strong for the coming fall.

Even with people bringing up the disappointing performances versus LSU and Auburn, poor tackling and penalties were two of the biggest problems for the Tide’s secondary last season.

In last week’s airing of In My Own Words, yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine provides a spring preview of the defensive backs and what will be the most important message for them in the fall.
