Could Alabama football be back by August?

Concerns over if college football will begin on time grow each day as the world battles through the global pandemic caused by COVID-19.

Sports inside the United States have halted. The NBA and MLB have suspended their seasons, while the NFL is making adjustments to the upcoming NFL Draft. It remains unclear when sports will resume, although the NFL did receive some optimistic news Saturday during a conference call with The President of the United States.

Donald Trump said he believes the NFL season should start on time in September during the call, according to ESPN NFL Insider, Adam Schefter.

The NFL season is scheduled to begin Sept. 10, which is five days after Alabama’s first game against USC.  Multiple major league commissioners were in on the call with Trump, including Adam Silver, Roger Goodell, Rob Manfred and Dana White.

With this prediction in mind, it is good reason to believe college football will begin on time and at worst, pushed backed a week or two. The NCAA was not in on the call and have yet to rule on whether Fall sports will begin on time.
