Mac Jones and Bryce Young are neighbors in Tide’s new locker room

On Sunday, one of the biggest perks of being an athlete for Alabama football happened.

According a video shared from the program on Twitter, a new, high-tech locker room has been created as the players are looking forward to the season. Each locker details a player’s name, jersey No., position and hometown. With the new look, the team is not only excited but also focused on winning a Southeastern Conference title and returning to the College Football Playoff.

One conversation that’s been had this summer is the race between Mac Jones and Bryce Young.

Alabama has a great quarterback room overall, but fans have been torn about both guys.

Interestingly enough, the junior and true freshman are neighbors in the Crimson Tide’s new locker room.

Alabama football’s new locker room for 2020 season. Quarterbacks Mac Jones and Bryce Young are locker neighbors.

Jones, a native of Jacksonville, Fla., played in 12 games last season – including four starts. He tossed for 1,503 passing yards with 14 touchdowns to three interceptions, and guided the Tide to a 35-16 victory over Michigan in the Citrus Bowl.

Once a four-star prospect from the 2017 recruiting class, Jones has earned the trust and confidence of the entire team.

Young, a native of Pasadena, Calif., is an exceptionally talented five-star who had an incredible high school career. He accounted for 13,250 passing yards, 152 passing touchdowns and 178 total scores in his tenure at Mater Dei High School. Young took the Monarchs to a state championship as a junior in 2018 and led it to the state title game in the following year.

He was the 2019 High School Quarterback of the Year by the National Quarterback Club and Maxwell Offensive Player of the Year. Young put on a show in the U.S. Army All-America Bowl, where he was named the Offensive MVP and All-American Bowl Player of the Year.

Both guys are highly talented in their own way; however, the task will be to help each other in the quarterback room. Should we have a football season, it will be interesting to see how they interact with each other. Luckily, there is the quality example of Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa.

Hopefully, Jones and Young look at what Hurts and Tagovailoa had as inspiration.
