Alabama vs Mississippi State Predictions

Alabama RB Jahmyr Gibbs runs loose in the secondary against Texas A&M

Alabama football will return home to host Mississippi State in an SEC matchup Saturday.

Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CST. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN.

The staff at Touchdown Alabama provide their predictions and analysis of the game.

STEPHEN M. SMITH / SENIOR REPORTER

Alabama 48 – Mississippi State 10

Key Insight: Alabama’s defense has to play with aggressiveness. After a loss to Tennessee, Tide fans want to see Will Anderson be more impactful. We could see some personnel changes at different positions. Offensively, Alabama has to continue getting a balance.

JUSTIN SMITH / SCOUTING/RECRUITING ANALYST

Alabama 42 – Mississippi State 24

Key Insight: Alabama football’s secondary will be tested throughout this one. The bulldogs have thrown the football more than 40 times in six of their seven games.

After a horrible performance against Tennessee’s passing attack, I expect Alabama’s secondary to improve, but Mississippi State will likely have some success passing the football in this one. Alabama should turn up the pressure on Will Rogers to slow down Mike Leach’s offense.

The Crimson Tide should outpace the Bulldogs in this one.
