Former Alabama WR details how intense practices were under Nick Saban

Nick Saban wants perfection in a game, but he craves it before Alabama football takes the field on Saturdays in the fall.

He desires to see perfection from his players in practice Monday through Friday. Many former players that made it to the National Football League would tell people that practices at Alabama are tougher than the pros. A Crimson Tide alumnus described the intensity of Alabama practices under Nick Saban in the Side Hustle podcast. Mac Herford played wide receiver for Alabama from 2016 to 2020, helping the program to two College Football Playoff National Championships in 2017 and 2020.

Herford said practices at Alabama are ‘methodical’ and ‘calculated.’

He saw Saban’s toughness first-hand as the details he witnessed won two national championships and three Southeastern Conference Championships (2016, 2018, and 2020).
