Will Reichard relives viral tackle against Auburn

Alabama football’s starting kicker, Will Reichard discussed his viral tackle against Auburn in the Iron Bowl last season during the Crimson Tide’s Thursday player media availability.

Reichard had social media talking during the Tide’s matchup with the Tigers when he made a possible touchdown-saving tackle on Auburn’s Jarquez Hunter on a kickoff in the second quarter. The score would have cut Alabama’s lead down to seven.

The Hoover product was humble when discussing the first tackle of his career.

“That was a fun one,” Reichard said. “First tackle of my career. I got a little bit lucky. If he runs through that hole 10 times, I probably would only beat him one out of 10. It is fun. The reaction kind of blew up a little bit. It was in the moment. I play with some fire at times. My emotion kind of came out a little bit. Definitely a fun play.”

Reichard returns to Alabama in a leadership role with 426 points to his name.
