The University of Alabama could be down a running back for the Southeastern Conference Championship Game.

Jase McClellan, a senior, suffered a foot injury in the Iron Bowl. He left Jordan-Hare Stadium on crutches after a 27-24 victory over Auburn for Alabama. McClellan totaled 66 yards rushing, but he’s been dealing with a foot issue this season.

He has not practiced all week and Nick Saban has him as ‘questionable’ for Saturday’s matchup against Georgia.

If he cannot play, sophomore Jam Miller has an opportunity to be highly impactful versus the Bulldogs. Roydell Williams, a senior, averages 5.3 yards per carry and has four rushing touchdowns, but Miller offers more in the passing game. He possesses power between the tackles, speed on the perimeter, catches passes out of the backfield, and pass block. Miller’s versatility could offset Georgia’s defense at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Alabama will also use freshman Justice Haynes, who is a native Georgian.

Haynes has two rushing touchdowns. The Tide has a mixture of backs, but Miller’s versatility makes him a great option to generate marquee plays against Georgia. Alabama will miss McClellan if he cannot go, but Miller is prepared to answer the call.
