Alabama continues to stand out to In-State RB Ja’Michael Jones

Ja'Michael Jones

Alabama has currently offered four running backs in the 2026 recruiting class.

Among those is in-state ball carrier, Ja’Michael Jones out of Pike Road High School.

The Crimson Tide offered Jones back in the spring of this year, and communication between the two parties has remained constant ever since. He has continued to build his relationship with Alabama’s running backs coach Robert Gillespie.

“He’s a very honest guy,” Jones said. “He’s gonna tell you right from wrong at any time. He always tries to improve you on the field and off..”

Despite only being a Sophomore, the Pike Road product has taken quite a few visits, including multiple trips to Tuscaloosa.

“It’s a very good atmosphere on campus,” Jones said when discussing visits to Alabama.

Jones has also visited a handful of other schools, including Auburn, Tennessee, Florida State, Georgia, and Ole Miss. Despite visits to these other schools, Alabama is in position to remain in a good place for him in the future.

The sophomore has requirements he is going to consider when picking a college. The standout back has put an emphasis on finding a school that has a mix of a good education and great development, which will get him to the next level.

“I would say the school that can allow me to get a good education and get drafted and have a good college career with a good coaching staff,” said Jones regarding his criteria for picking a school.

Many schools have shown interest early in Jones. However, the SEC schools are the schools that have piqued his interest early on.

“It’s amazing to have those offers as young as I am,” Jones said. “It just shows how much work I put in.”

Since it is very early on in his recruitment, there are no sure leaders for Jones.
