Alabama staff begins to visit in-state programs to recruit

The new-look Alabama football coaching staff is now hitting the road to recruit some in-state talent.

Alabama’s running back coach Robert Gillespie was spotted Thursday at Central Phenix City High School in Phenix City, Alabama along with Crimson Tide staffers and former Alabama players, Josh Chapman and Denzel Devall, who both played under Nick Saban.

Homegrown talent has continued to be a vital part of the Alabama football program. From Julio Jones of Foley, Alabama helping set the standard of the Saban dynasty in Tuscaloosa to Kool-Aid McKinstry of Birmingham, Alabama being part of the final chapter of Saban’s career at Alabama.

It is no secret Kalen DeBoer will have to recruit the state’s growing talent pool, and he looks to be putting the pieces in place to do so.
