Gulf Shores sophomore LB JaMichael Garrett picking up steam on recruiting trail

JaMichael Garrett

JaMichael Garrett is currently picking up steam on the recruiting trail with offers from LSU, Tulane and Tennessee.

Garrett is a product of Gulf Shores High School in Alabama. His offer total now sits at seven with previous offers from Auburn, Ole Miss, Troy and UAB.

The rising prospect said he feels grateful for his early recruiting success.

“It feels good to know that my hard work isn’t going unnoticed, just trying to continue to work hard and make it to the next level,” Garrett told Touchdown Alabama.

Garrett has an opportunity to be one of the top hybrid defenders in his recruiting class at 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds. He flies sideline to sideline and make plays from different positions on the defensive side of the football. He feels his speed combined with his athleticism makes the game come easier to him.

“My speed and my vision are my strong suits,” said Garrett “It makes everything slow down for me on Friday nights because I use my athleticism to give me the upper hand.”

College coaches love what they see from Garrett when they turn on his film.

“They said I have one of the most impressive sophomore season films,” said Garrett. “They also said they love how hard and fast I play and how I play on special teams too.”

Garrett continues to receive interest from Mississippi State, Miami, South Alabama and Oregon State.
