Jackson Fields is excited to throw and compete while camping at Alabama this summer as he garners interest from some of college football’s top programs.
Fields is a product of Destrehan High School in Louisiana. His recruitment looks to be trending in a positive direction after one of his throws in Destrehan’s spring game went viral.

Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Oklahoma, Ohio State and Tulane have all invited Fields to camp since the throw surfaced and has been viewed by more than a million users on X.
The Crimson Tide extended an invite Saturday for Fields to camp on June 14.
“Obviously, it’s one of the most legendary football programs of all time,” Fields said when asked about his interest in Alabama. “I grew up during the Saban era and what he built and accomplished there is the standard as far as the modern era of college football is concerned. What Bryce Young did there was insane. Was hard to see Saban go because as a kid you dream of playing for a football coach like that but at the same time, I really liked coach DeBoer taking over. The DeBoer-Penix offense was next level that last year they were together.”
Fields stands at 6-foot-2 and weighs 207 pounds, and he checks a lot of boxes as a quarterback prospect. He displays the ability to make a wide range of throws on the field by hitting his wide receivers in stride while pushing the ball down the field and threading the needle through tight coverage on underneath routes. He also seems to have great pocket awareness.
The 2026 recruit finished the 2024 season with 4,190 yards passing and 52 touchdowns.
“I feel like my poise and accuracy are my best attributes,” said Fields. “I’ve had to deal with adversity over my high school career, whether it be an injury, coaching changes or top-tier opponents. I feel like these experiences have really just made me comfortable with who I am as a quarterback and a better leader. When it comes to my arm, I feel as if I can make any throw in any situation. I can get the ball out on time and make layered throws that give my wide receivers the best opportunity to make a play. At Destrehan, it is the standard to not let anyone work harder than you, and I feel that my hard work and great coaching have gotten me prepared for the spotlight.”
