Alabama wide receiver named to Maxwell Award watch list

The new college football season is less than a month away, and the watch list for the Maxwell Award has finally come out. This award is presented to the most outstanding player in college football.

Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams was named to the 80-player watch list on July 28. Williams is coming off a memorable freshman season that generated a lot of exposure for the now 18-year-old, landing him a spot on the cover of EA College Football 26.

Williams finished the 2024 season with 48 catches for 865 yards and eight touchdowns.

The last Alabama player to win the Maxwell Award was Bryce Young in 2021.
