After a few week long battle for the job, Alabama is expected to name former 5-star recruit Ty Simpson as its starting quarterback according to a report from Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.

Simpson is entering his fourth year in the program and was able to hold off Washington transfer quarterback Austin Mack and five-star true freshman Keelon Russell to win the job.

In his career with the Crimson Tide, Simpson has appeared in 16 games passing for 381 yards with a 58% completion percentage. Simpson also adds three career touchdowns all of which came on the ground.
