Saturday’s marquee matchup between No. 17 Alabama and No. 5 Georgia could come down to small margins. Last year, the Crimson Tide edged the Bulldogs, 41-34, in one of college football’s games of the season. This year, Georgia enters the game as a 2.5-point favorite.
Matchups and schemes will be scrutinized throughout the week. However, when it comes to deciding a winner on Saturday, discipline will also be key.
That could be a problem for an Alabama team that currently ranks tied for 83rd nationally, averaging 6.7 penalties per game this season. It’s especially concerning, considering Georgia is tied for fifth in the category, committing just 3.3 fouls per game.
