Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide continue to prepare for an LSU team, who could look a little different on the offensive side of the football on Saturday night.

The Tigers will have a new play caller at the helm in Alex Atkins under interim head football coach Frank Wilson. While the Tigers could pull out some new wrinkles this weekend, their personnel remains the same.

DeBoer feels this is something Alabama must respect, especially at the wide receiver position.

“They are very talented.” DeBoer said on “Hey Coach and The Kalen DeBoer Show.” “I mean, the skill, just the way they fly around the field. The receiving core, it’s as good of a receiving core as we’ve seen. That’s the way we put it with our guys that this is the best one we’ve seen. I really believe it, and you can argue this and that group.”

Former Alabama football wide receiver, Aaron Anderson leads the Tigers in receiving yards with 382 yards on 29 receptions. Barion Brown leads the Tigers in receptions with 36 to go along with 361 yards. Five different LSU wideouts and tight ends have racked up more than 100 receiving yards this season.

Deontae Lawson describes this group, along with the Tigers’ running backs, as very dangerous.

“It’s probably the best skill guys that we played all year,” Lawson said. “I mean, they fast, they explosive, they can turn a drag route into a touchdown. We got to be very detailed and fundamental on how we swarm to the ball and make sure we leverage the ball inside out and things like that.”

Alabama looks to be preparing for a dog fight against the Tigers.
