Alabama football leads LSU 17-3 at halftime. The Crimson Tide will look to close out this one strong in the second half.
Here is what the Tide needs to do in the second half:
– Solve run game issues
Alabama football’s rushing attack is still struggling. Alabama’s staff has acknowledged the teams inability to run the football in recent weeks, but the struggles still remain. Alabama did not come out hot passing the football, and without Ty Simpson making plays with his arm, the Tide came out completely flat on offense in this one. Once the Crimson Tide was able to get something going on the ground, its offense opened up. They now need to gain consistency.
– Limit LSU explosive plays
LSU has explosive weapons on offense. This collection of speed is unlike any other team in the country, and the Tide needs to contain them in the second half by making tackles in space and keeping everything in front of them.
– Defense needs to keep playing with their hair on fire
Alabama’s defense has been flying around the field, making hard hits and ripping at the ball. When they have not given up big plays against the Tigers, they have been the Tide’s best unit in this one so far.
– Get consistency from Conor Talty
This has ultimately been the story of the season for Alabama kicker, Conor Talty. He has been up and down throughout the season, and the first half was no different. He made a 45-yard field goal, but he missed a 26-yard field goal.
