Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide were able to make a strong impression on 2028 in-state linebacker, Nehemiah McCary, during Junior Day on Saturday. McCary had high praise for the Tide and what it has to offer after the visit.
“My Junior Day went good,” McCary said. “Every aspect of the facilities, and the coaches were very good.”
McCary, out of Maplesville High School, stands at almost 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, and he is currently a sophomore. He’s been making an early case for the best player in the state of Alabama in the class of 2028 with his impressive two-way play.
He began to put himself on the map when he was still in middle school in 2023 but earned varsity reps with Maplesville. He has rushed for almost a 1,000 yards in each of his three seasons playing running back for the Red Devils. He has done this along with continuing to show why he is expected to be a linebacker at the next level with his athleticism and ability to play in space.
Alabama is expected to make a hard push for the young linebacker, who told Touchdown Alabama his relationship with Alabama’s outside linebacker’s coach Christian Robinson is strong after his visit.
“I have a good relationship with coach Christian Robinson,” McCary said.
The sophomore is on pace to be recruited to be an outside linebacker for the Tide and play under Robinson.
