Alabama football is expected to hire Richard Owens as its next tight ends coach, per multiple reports.
Owens was previously the offensive line coach at Louisville. He played tight end for the Cardinals as a college football player before playing multiple years in the NFL with the Vikings, Rams and Jets. Owens started in seven NFL games from 2004 to 2009.
The former NFL tight end has coached either tight ends or the offensive line throughout his coaching career so far. Alabama went looking for a new tight ends coach after Bryan Ellis move to quarterbacks coach after previously coaching tight ends for the Tide.
