Alabama offers 6-foot-4 TE: “I think Alabama is the most proven program in all of college football”

Colton Johnson reported an offer from Alabama football on Tuesday evening. He is now looking forward to visiting the Crimson Tide this spring.

Johnson is a 2027 tight end prospect, and he attends Upperman High School in Baxter, Tennessee. Alabama joins Johnson’s recruitment alongside Ole Miss, Purdue, Vanderbilt and others.

The junior respects Alabama football as one of the best football programs in the country.

“I think Alabama is the most proven program in all of college football, and they are top-tier in every aspect of football,” Johnson told Touchdown Alabama.

Alabama will be looking to get Johnson on campus during the spring.

The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder shines as a complete tight end for Upperman. He produces as a blocker at the line of scrimmage, displaying physicality and tenacity. He also makes plays as a large target for his quarterback.

“I think I’m a dominant blocker and a big target in the pass game,” Johnson said.

Johnson finished the 2025 season with 36 receptions, 615 receiving yards and six touchdowns.
