Avrian Pauley Jr. made his way back to Tuscaloosa Sunday to watch the Alabama Crimson Tide kick off spring practice.
Pauley attends McGill-Toolen High School in Mobile, Alabama. The 2027 prospect holds offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Ole Miss, Michigan, Tennessee and others.
The Crimson Tide has made a major move for the in-state target.
“They are at the top of my recruitment,” Pauley told Touchdown Alabama.
Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer and the Tide’s defensive line coach Freddie Roach spoke with Pauley during his time in Tuscaloosa. The junior also got to see Alabama put in work up close, and it reminded him of the work he needs to put in.
“Seeing them close up made me realize how much I need to work and get bigger before I get to that level,” Pauley said.
Pauley plans to be back in Tuscaloosa for an official visit in May.
At 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds, Pauley has the potential to play multiple positions along the defensive front at the next level with his versatility. Alabama will likely play him at bandit or defensive tackle in Kane Wommack’s 4-2-5 defensive scheme.
