Alabama football will compete in its second scrimmage of the spring on Friday.

Here are five offensive questions ahead of the Crimson Tide’s second spring scrimmage:

Will there be separation at quarterback?

This will remain a question throughout the spring and most likely throughout the offseason. Both quarterbacks continue to compete for the QB1 title. Kalen DeBoer complimented both quarterbacks for their willingness to attack the defense after Alabama’s first scrimmage.

“I love the aggressiveness that they have,” DeBoer said. “They’re not gun shy. They go and make plays attacking whenever they can get the right opportunities with the throws, and they’re making the throws. And the guys are going through, making the plays for them, and the catches.”

No separation looks to exist in competition at the moment. It will be interesting to see if one signal caller gains a leg up in the battle with a strong second scrimmage.

Another big day for Alabama wide receivers?

The Crimson Tide’s wide receivers made plays in the Tide’s first scrimmage. They were all over the highlights Alabama football released, and DeBoer praised them after the scrimmage.

“I think they’re working really well with the quarterbacks,” DeBoer said. “They made a lot of plays today. They did a really nice job making the ones that are hard and sometimes that’s a catch and contact, but they hit some explosives today. That’s the offensive line providing the time. That’s the quarterback making a good decision, throwing on time, putting the ball where it needs to be.”

Will the same outcome happen Friday in Bryant-Denny Stadium?

Will there be more explosives out of the run game?

It did not appear to be too many explosives out of the Tide’s run game in spring scrimmage No. 1. Daniel Hill only brought up one when asked how many explosives happened. He pointed to a run Traeshawn Brown produced.

The Alabama faithful is hoping the Tide will turn things around on the ground in 2026 after a down year on the ground last season. More explosives in scrimmage No. 2 could be a good sign of Alabama getting closer to this goal.

More continuity upfront?

Alabama football’s offensive line looks to be taking some shape with Jackson Lloyd at left tackle, Jayvin James likely at right tackle, Michael Carroll at one of the guard sports and Racin Delgatty likely at center. The Tide’s other guard spot remains in the air with Mal Waldrep spending some time there and other guys making noise to possibly push for a spot there. More continuity upfront in this one will likely be a great sign for the Tide.

More Love For Tight Ends?

Alabama football’s tight ends did not get a lot of attention after the Crimson Tide’s first scrimmage, but it remains a very intriguing position for the Tide after losing Josh Cuevas. Kaleb Edwards returned to Alabama after starting multiple games along with Danny Lewis, Marshall Pricthett and Jay Lindsey, who have meaningful experience under their belt. Josh Ford is also another tight end to know after transferring to Oklahoma State. More noise from them will be positive for Alabama.
