AJ McCarron is set to coach his first game inside the state of Alabama as the Birmingham Stallions’ head coach Saturday when the Orlando Storm make their way to the Magic City.

The Mobile, Alabama native is in his first year as the Stallions’ head coach. The team is currently 1-2 after back-to-back losses ahead of its home opener. The former Alabama quarterback is confident his team can turn things around Saturday in front of a great home crowd.

“Excited about this week, playing an undefeated team, Orlando Storm,” McCarron said on “The Dynasty Podcast.” “We’re going to be at home, so hopefully we have a huge crowd, hopefully that it’s a loud atmosphere for the opposing team, and we can turn this thing around. Sitting at 1-2, got plenty of time to turned the ship in the right direction. We just got to get the guys to do it, buy in, and do it for four quarters.”

Saturday’s game is set to kick off at 3 p.m. CT at Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama. Another Alabama native and well-known rapper, Gucci Mane will be providing the halftime entertainment.

Tickets for the game can be purchased at this link.
