The Alabama Crimson Tide will begin SEC play this weekend with a matchup on the road against the Kentucky Wildcats.
Alabama’s offense will face their first true test of the 2026 season against a talented Kentucky defensive unit. Sophomore quarterback Keelon Russell will look to shine once again, and Russell should quickly begin building further chemistry with the Tide’s talented wide receiver corps on the road in Week 2.
Sophomore route runner Derek Meadows recently took a moment to comment on the Tide’s offensive chemistry in Week 1. Meadows spoke about Ryan Coleman-Williams’ struggles from last weekend as well, as the sophomore believes Coleman-Williams was able to bounce back in major fashion following his drops in the first quarter.
“Our coaches tell us things are going to happen in a game. It’s how you respond to it.” Meadows said. “And he responds so well to everything. Look, who cares if he had two drops? It’s how he responded. And he constantly does that, he’s a leader in our group, and he’s a tremendous player in my opinion.”
Coleman-Williams and Meadows combined for 174 total yards on eight catches during the Tide’s 48-10 win over ECU. Coleman-Williams was able to bounce back in authoritative fashion following his first quarter struggles, and the junior will look to pick up right where he left off against the Wildcats in Week 2.
