Alabama wide receiver excited to play in front of ‘nasty’ LSU fans

The Alabama Crimson Tide’s season will more than likely be on the line this weekend on the road in Baton Rouge.

No. 9 Alabama is set to face No. 15 LSU in Death Valley on Saturday afternoon, and the loser of the contest will almost certainly be eliminated from College Football Playoff contention. The Tide are expecting a handful of key contributors to return from injury this weekend, and the offense as a whole will undoubtedly need to be on the same page throughout the entire matchup.

Alabama wide receiver Rico Scott took a moment to comment on the expected hostile environment following practice on Tuesday. The sophomore traveled to Baton Rouge with the Tide during his true freshman campaign in 2024, and Scott believes Tiger fans will replicate a similar experience on Saturday.

“It’s a crazy atmosphere,” Scott said. “Fans are a little nasty, but I feel like ours are too. It’s a great atmosphere, though, going to be fun to go out there and play.”

Scott continued to talk about the approach that the team as a whole has taken at practice prior to Saturday’s critical matchup.

“I would just say being better than yesterday. The communication piece, offensively, we all have to be on the same page no matter where we’re at. No matter if we’re home, at Tennessee, LSU, we’ve all got to be on the same page.”

Alabama’s offense has dealt with clear communication issues in a handful of hostile road environments this season. Scott and the rest of the unit as a whole appear to be putting a clear emphasis on their communication abilities throughout practice this week, and the offense will undoubtedly need to play better following a lackluster performance on the road in Tennessee.
