The Georgia Bulldogs defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide by a final score of 20-17 on Saturday evening.
Alabama’s defense struggled to contain Georgia both on the ground and through the air in Week 6. Bulldogs’ quarterback Gunner Stockton was excellent throughout the entire contest, and Georgia was able to make a massive impact on the ground despite missing multiple running backs due to injury.
A handful of Alabama alums were seen on the sideline during Saturday’s loss as well. Legendary Alabama safety and Alabama football’s Director of Player Development Ha Ha Clinton-Dix had a moment with Crimson Tide cornerback Dijon Lee Jr. late in the fourth quarter, and coach Kalen DeBoer took a moment to speak on it during his weekly press conference on Monday.
“It takes an army of people in this building to keep our team all moving in the same direction. And I really feel as we get to this year in particular, the people kind of feel it out.” DeBoer said. “Guys like Ha Ha, they are trying to feel things out. They’ve been here, but how does coach DeBoer want it. What’s my role, and he’s part of a group with Denzel and Josh Chapman that really provide a lot of support to our guys. They support our guys, but they are lifers here as far as Alabama alums. They know what it takes, and so the accountability along with the teaching and things like that. Just having a guy like Ha Ha who played at a high level here, gone to the next level and excelled in the NFL, comes back and takes all those teaching moments he seemingly had, keep them level headed. And being there when it matters most, to help all of us get through it. In that moment, make it teachable and continue the conversations even since then that can make this a positive in the end even though it’s obviously a negative in the moment.”
Lee has struggled immensely over the first 6 weeks of the 2026 season. The once promising cornerback will undoubtedly benefit from having Clinton-Dix as a mentor moving forward, but Lee will need to turn things around as soon as possible considering his mistakes against Georgia.
