DeBoer asked if the Alabama offense has become too predictable

A play from the Alabama vs. Tennessee game that is getting a lot of attention is one where Tennessee linebacker Amare Campbell looks to be alerting his Vol teammates to where the Alabama offense was going with the ball before the snap.

Campbell was spotted jumping up and down pointing at Marshall Pritchett before the snap on the play. The Tennessee defender let the screen develop after the snap and was there to stop the play as soon as Keelon Russell hit Pritchett.

Kalen DeBoer was asked about this play on Monday.

“There’s so much information in each week that now you have just a touch of the button almost now from what it was maybe five or 10 years ago, 10 years ago for sure,” DeBoer said. “We can have that information on every personnel grouping and what our tendencies are. We’re certainly aware of that. Marshall has a role. He comes in at certain times, and identifying them is what they should do because he has a certain skill set, certain things that he can do. But it doesn’t mean that he’s getting the ball. We certainly need to know where he’s at. I know exactly the play you’re talking about. I don’t see it as that that they knew he was getting the ball. He’s certainly an option, and always is going to be because he’s that type of threat.”

The Alabama offense will look to get back on track against Texas A&M on Saturday.
