An injury kept Alabama 6-foot-4 freshman wide receiver off the field vs. Tennessee

Cederian Morgan was one of the wide receivers some thought they would see more of for Alabama against the Tennessee Vols.

Morgan is a freshman wide receiver for the Crimson Tide. The 6-foot-4 Alabama native is one of several Alabama freshmen who many believes has a high upside.

With Ryan Coleman-Williams missing in action against the Vols, playing time for Morgan looked as if he was going to see an uptick.  Alabama’s offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb told reporters Monday why this was not so.

“Cederian was nursing a hamstring and missed a couple of days of practice,” Grubb said. “It was a little tougher to get him out there, he was going crazy trying to get himself ready, he’s a tough kid. We had that thing wrapped and we were just a little hesitant on how much he’ll be able to do.”

Morgan has seen limited action this season. He has only pulled in one reception, but he turned that reception into six.

It will be interesting to see if Morgan gets more playing time when the Tide takes on Texas A&M.
