DeMeco Ryans was an incredible student and legendary player at the University of Alabama, he has quickly become a much sought-after coach in the National Football League.
The 37-year-old has served five seasons as a defensive coach for the San Francisco 49ers.
He started as a defensive quality control coach in 2017 and worked his way to defensive coordinator in 2021. Ryans’ mindset, ability to relate to players, teaching abilities, and playing experience in the NFL allowed him to coach a defense that pushed the 49ers into the NFC playoffs. Several national media pundits had Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers heavily favored over San Francisco in Saturday’s NFC Divisional Playoff Round.
Rodgers was having his fourth NFL Most Valuable Player season until he came against Ryans’ defense. San Francisco shut the Packers’ offense down at Lambeau Field for a 13-10 upset victory.
Ryans’ defense rendered Rodgers to no touchdown passes.
Green Bay was held scoreless in the second and third quarters. San Francisco stifled the Packers’ rushing attack (67 yards, 20 carries) and held the No. 1 seed to its third-lowest scoring output of the season. People are speechless on social media after seeing how dominant the 49ers looked defensively. As it heads to the NFC Championship Game, the NFL world is singing Ryans’ praises.
Major props to 49ers defensive coordinator, DeMeco Ryans, and special teams coordinator, Richard Hightower!!

This man Jimmy G put up 6 points on offense and still beat Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. Give DeMeco Ryans his head coaching opportunity this instant.

Don’t let the Packers meltdown distract you from the fact that the Texans are trying to hire JOSH MCCOWN to be their Head Coach because Great Value Joel Osteen wants them to, instead of hiring A FRANCHISE LEGEND in Demeco Ryans who just depantsed Aaron Rodgers to get to NFCCG.

Former Eagles LB and current 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans deserves to be a head coach! He’s exceptionally bright, tough, and the very definition of a leader. What a memorable win over the Packers!

DeMeco Ryans and the #49ers defense limited Packers QB Aaron Rodgers to a 19.3 total QBR on Saturday night. That’s the worst mark of Rodgers’ playoff career.
