We are now a few hours from kickoff between Alabama and Utah State.

Several Crimson Tide alums were on social media showing excitement for Alabama opening the season at home.

For the first time since 2011, the Tide opens the season without facing a marquee non-conference opponent. Utah State finished last year as the top school in the Mountain West Conference at 11-3. The Aggies may throw different looks to offset the Tide, but Nick Saban’s group is focused on getting back to the College Football Playoff and winning a national championship.

SEC Network will have the call at 6:30 p.m. CT, but the tweets from Tide alums are below.

Mack Wilson, former Tide LB

Phidarian Mathis, former Alabama DL

Mac Hereford, former Alabama WR

Shyheim Carter, former Alabama DB

Saivion Smith, former Alabama CB

Jared Mayden, former Alabama safety
