He is back on the west coast and having fun in the National Football League.

Cameron Latu, a native of Salt Lake City, Utah, came to the University of Alabama as a four-star in its 2018 class.

He was recruited to be an outside linebacker, but his journey to the NFL happened because he switched to tight end.

After making the move over to offense, Latu assisted the Crimson Tide to a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2020. He would then explode onto the scene in 2021, posting 26 catches for 410 yards and eight touchdowns as a starter.

Latu pushed the Tide to a Southeastern Conference Championship and a berth in the CFP National Championship Game. He finished last season with 30 receptions for 377 yards and four scores. Latu helped Alabama to an 11-win season in 2022, and his willingness to play a different position allowed him to get selected in the third round of the NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers.

He is teammates with an NFL star (George Kittle), but Latu has made his presence felt in organized team activities.

He’s made several nice plays, including some posted to his Instagram. Kyle Shanahan, the head coach of the 49ers, has a chance to create something special with Kittle and Latu. He intends on doing that to make the offense special.
