Alabama running back Derrick Henry earned his second award from the Southeastern Conference Monday morning, as it recognized him for offensive player of the week.
The junior pounded Texas A&M’s defense for 236 yards and two touchdowns on 32 carries.
Henry averaged 7.4 yards per tot, and scored his touchdowns on runs of 55 and six yards. His 236 rushing yards against the Aggies was good for fifth in Alabama history in a single game. Henry’s streak of consecutive games with a rushing touchdown extends to 12 after last week.
Henry and the Crimson Tide will face Tennessee this weekend at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The 6-foot-3, 243-pound back has a chance to eclipse 1,000 yards rushing for the first time in his career. He currently stands at 901 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.
