He encountered somewhat of a “sophomore slump” earlier in the season, but it appears that Alabama punter JK Scott has regained his confidence. His numbers have improved in the last few games, with his best showing coming last week against the Tennessee Volunteers.
Scott was named Special Teams Player of the Week Monday morning, courtesy of the Southeastern Conference. He executed four punts against Tennessee, with two of them dropping inside the 20-yard line. The sophomore averaged 49.8 yards per boot and had two attempts in excess of 50 yards. Alabama defeated Tennessee 19-14 at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Scott and the Crimson Tide are off this week, but will face LSU on Nov. 7 at home.
