Alabama veteran OT has ‘manageable’ shoulder injury, per Kalen DeBoer

He was ready to start in Alabama’s season opener versus Western Kentucky, but Kadyn Proctor suffered an unexpected injury at Bryant-Denny Stadium in pregame warmups.

The sophomore offensive tackle spent the remainder of the game with his left shoulder in a sling. Proctor’s misfortune caught head coach Kalen DeBoer off guard, but Elijah Pritchett was prepared. He assisted the Crimson Tide total 600 yards on offense and score 63 points in a dominant victory over the Hilltoppers. Alabama fans showed concern as to whether Proctor would need surgery on his shoulder; however, close sources to Touchdown Alabama Magazine confirmed no surgery will be needed.

Coach DeBoer called Proctor’s injury ‘manageable’ for the coaching staff.

“Kadyn’s got a shoulder, shoulder situation there,” DeBoer said. “It is one that we will be able to manage, so that is positive. It is something that we will continue to evaluate as we go through the week. It will be something early on we will be rolling with, but as the week goes on it will be something we can continue to evaluate and be hopeful for.”

Close sources told TDA Magazine it sounds like no damage was done to Proctor’s shoulder.

He could be back in at least two weeks, but we will have to wait and see.
