Alabama football took down the Kentucky Wildcats 45-17 in Lexington, and sophomore Lotzeir Brooks was the leading receiver for the Crimson Tide on Saturday.
Brooks caught five passes for 54 yards and caught a ball for a 2-point conversion. 29 of his 54 yards came after the catch.
Sophomore quarterback Keelon Russell had high praise for Brooks after the game.
“We just got to get the ball to him,” he said. “Get the ball in 3’s hands, he going to be unstoppable. The guy makes people miss without even trying to juke them. He’s fast. He has a burst of God speed. He’s a phenomenal player and can catch anything in his presence. Just love the dude. He’s a workaholic. He’s gonna get out there, showcase everything.”
Brooks showed up in the critical moments during the game, and it seems like a great connection is brewing between the sophomore wide receiver and his fellow sophomore at quarterback.
Russell said that Brooks was one of the first players to come to him on the sideline and let him know that the team had his back after a shaky start to the game.
The sophomore duo will look to build off their performances when Alabama will host Florida State next Saturday.
