He looked like he made a full transformation at quarterback versus Georgia, but what has happened to Jalen Milroe since then?
The starting quarterback for the University of Alabama football program struggled tremendously in back-to-back matchups against South Carolina and Tennessee. He had just one interception in the first four games, but has tossed five in the last three contests — including two picks each versus the Gamecocks and Volunteers. People are wondering if Milroe suffered an injury and that’s the cause for the issues or is he just not playing well. Roman Harper, a former Crimson Tide safety, revealed his thoughts on the situation via The Next Round on WJOX 94.5 FM. Harper, a former Super Bowl Champion, is an analyst for SEC Network.

Harper said Milroe is ‘just not making the layups.’

“He had a couple of throws that were wide open that he missed,” Harper said about Milroe’s performance versus Tennessee.
“He missed the running back, Justice Haynes, in the flat one time. And that would have been a big gain. He missed Ryan Williams on an end cut route, and he has made those throws all year. If you make these throws, the feel of the game is completely different. He missed Germie Bernard on a Cover 3 beater, and he had him for a touchdown. He hesitated, he has to let it rip, but he didn’t and the next thing you know he tries to take a check down and misses it. These are the plays and you don’t know the plays that are going to flip or turn a game, and the first couple of weeks he made those plays. Right now, he is not making those plays and the team is hurting because of it. This has to be an offensive driven team, an offensive led team, and that is what has to pick up.”

Harper said Alabama’s highs have been really high, but its lows have been really low.
Alabama takes on a beat up Missouri team this weekend, so it has an opportunity to get back on track.
We will see which version of Milroe shows up Saturday on Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
