The weakness of Alabama’s offensive line has been the play at both tackle positions. There is a heightened level of concern in regard to Alabama offensive tackles Kadyn Proctor and Elijah Pritchett being unable to protect quarterback Jalen Milroe.
Pritchett has made six starts at right tackle and one start at left tackle this season for the Crimson Tide. Proctor has made six starts at left tackle after returning from an injury that sidelined the first two games of the season.
The two have combined to allow 22 pressures. Pritchett has allowed 18 of the 22 pressures. That is a difficult stat to look at if you are an Alabama fan. Milroe has been under consistent pressure off the right side of the offensive line this season. While Proctor has only allowed four pressures, he has given up some big sacks this season.
LSU has an elite edge rushing duo that consists of fifth-year senior Bradyn Swinson and senior Sai’vion Jones. The duo has combined to record 12.5 sacks this season. Swinson leads the Tigers with eight sacks. Jones is second on the team with 4.5 sacks.
Against elite pass rushers, Alabama has struggled tremendously. South Carolina’s pass rushers recorded four sacks. Tennessee’s pass rushers recorded three sacks. This will be an area to keep an eye on in Baton Rouge this weekend. Can Alabama’s offensive tackles neutralize LSU’s pass rushing duo?
