Cam Newton feels Deion Sanders’ cultural impact on college football can stack up against Nick Saban’s impact.
Sanders started his collegiate coaching career in 2020 at Jackson State. He won the SWAC Championship two times while in Jackson before taking over in Colorado. He led the Buffaloes to a nine-win season in 2024 and a bowl game appearance.
Prime has managed to capture the attention of the college football world from the moment he took over in Boulder, but does it stack up to Saban’s impact? Newton feels Sanders has an argument.
“Deion Sanders has been the greatest gem in college football, probably bigger than Nick Saban, I said it,” Newton said Friday while giving praise to Sanders on First Take. “The culture, what he means to so many different people, the swagger, the bravado. Everything that he just embodies, it’s just Prime, Coach Prime at that.”
