Ohio State’s Athletic Director Ross Bjork recently sat down with the Columbus Dispatch’s Joey Kaufman and provided an update on the Buckeyes’ upcoming home-and-home football series against Alabama.
The series is slated to start during the 2027 college football season. Some have come out and reported the series could be canceled. Bjork confirmed the series is still on the books while talking to Kaufman.
Bjork was asked why the series should be played, and he provided his reasoning.
“We should never be afraid to play anybody,” Ross Bjork told Kaufman. “We’re Ohio State. People should be afraid to play us, right? Then you have to use some data. When we host these kind of games, from a revenue and fan interest standpoint and attention on the program, the lift is monumental… I don’t know if there’s enough data yet from a College Football Playoff standpoint to say we should or shouldn’t play those games.”
Ohio State is currently slated to host Alabama on Sept. 18, 2027 to kick off the series.
