Alius Mayo shared he recently received several pieces of mail from Alabama football, as the Crimson Tide appear to be prioritizing the junior college defensive back.

Mayo attends Modesto Junior College in Stockton, California, and his offer list includes offers from Alabama, Cal, Louisville and others. He is set to enter his second season at the JUCO level this fall and is expected to be a member of the 2027 recruiting class.
The Crimson Tide offered Mayo last month and immediately hosted him for an official visit a day later. Mayo told Touchdown Alabama he left the visit impressed with the Tide’s cornerback development.
“My biggest takeaway was that Alabama has a blueprint for getting cornerbacks to the league,” Mayo told Touchdown Alabama.
Mayo looks as if he could be a perfect fit in Tuscaloosa if he were to choose the Tide. The 6-foot-4 defensive back is a long and athletic cornerback who possesses a large cover radius with his long arms. That physical trait allows him to consistently play through the hands of pass catchers as a defender. His highlights are filled with plenty of pass breakups. He also possesses the ability to make tackles in space, which is something the Tide prioritizes on all levels of its defense, especially in the secondary.
