Alabama football is set to start fall camp this week, and there will be a lot of new faces in Tuscaloosa from the transfer portal.
Several of them look to be on pace to not only make an early impact in Tuscaloosa, but also to start for Alabama when the Tide opens the season against East Carolina.
Here is a look at five transfers in position to be day one starters in Tuscaloosa ahead of fall camp:
Caleb Woodson
Woodson transferred to Alabama from Virginia Tech after the 2025 football season. He started several games during his time as a Hokie, finishing his time at Virginia Tech with 152 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss and two sacks.
He is now expected to start inside linebacker for the Crimson Tide after Alabama lost Deontae Lawson, Justin Jefferson and Nikhai Hill-Green.
“Caleb has come in, and you can see that he has been on the football field,” DeBoer said during spring practice. “He has taken a lot of snaps. He is out there, and the schemes are not too fast for him. He has picked those up, and it allows him to go punch the ball out and cause chaos. He is being the baller that we expected to get when we brought him in.”
