Alabama football players were asked about the missed tackles Crimson Tide had against Tennessee during their player media availibility on Tuesday.

The Tide missed a total of 23 tackles against Tennessee in a 26-10 loss.

Caleb Woodson, who is a starting linebacker for the Crimson Tide, feels the Tide players fail to execute effective tackles on Vol ball carries.

“It’s not a lack of effort, not like a scheme,” Woodson said. “It’s just executing. When you chance to make the tackle, you gotta make the tackle.”

Ivan Taylor, who was a bright spot on defense for Alabama against Tennessee, feels the ability to be better at making tackles starts at practice for Alabama.

“We just have to make sure that we practice better and have better intensity on the field,” Taylor said.

Missed tackles are often major culprits for explosive plays. While the Tennessee offense was not explosive against Alabama, the Tide is set to face multiple offenses with the potential to be explosive over the next several weeks.
